Undoubtedly, there are a lot of city dwellers that get tired of the fast-paced of living in this environment. Some reach the conclusion that they want something more peaceful and turning to farm life sounds appealing to them. However, they may be doing this without really realising what living on a farm is like. Perhaps before making such a big decision, it would be worth looking into it a little deeper.

What Are Your Expectations?

If you are expecting to take up farm life just so can get away from responsibilities and relax, you may be in for a bit of a shock. Especially if you are thinking about working the farm on any level. You may be thinking of having a cow or two for fresh milk. Maybe some chickens for eggs, and a horse or two for riding pleasure. These are all great concepts, and they certainly have their appeal to them. Then top this off with the clean air that you will be breathing in every day is just an extra bonus. Don’t forget about the veggie garden that you have every intention of planting.

Down to Reality

What has been outlined is just a few of the many perks of owning a farm. However, none of these come without some responsibility. The animals need feeding and care. Which usually means getting up early in the morning so they can be fed and turned out for the day. There is no such thing as weekends off as the animals don’t stop eating and needing care for on the weekends.

Then once the animals have been tended to, the garden needs its works.

Having said all of this farm life is completely different to city living, but once you make the transition, you will wonder why you didn’t make the move sooner.
